National Chengchi University Philosophical Journal is a peer-reviewed journal, featuring scholarly work in philosophy. Articles in the journal present critical discussions of theories, classical works, and significant philosophical issues. The journal also publishes book reviews. The journal is run by an independent editorial board. It uses double-blind review, requiring each submitted article to be anonymously reviewed by domestic and international experts in philosophy fields and by the editorial board before issuing.

Founded in 1994, the journal is published by the department of philosophy at National Chengchi University. With a renewed design in 2002, it has been publishing semi-annually. It has been included in the world-renowned database, “The Philosopher’s Index,” since 2021, as well as in “Taiwan Humanities Citation Index Core” (THCI CORE) from 2006 to 2020. The journal won the first place in the domestic Journal Evaluation in the philosophy field, conducted by The Research Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (RIHSS) in 2007. In 2013, RIHSS evaluated the journal as “Rank A in philosophy field” among the Journals in humanities. In both 2020 and 2022, the journal won the Immediate Journal Dissemination Award of the National Central Library’s Academic Impact Awards.

In the spirit of digitalization and open access, the journal not only adopts print and digital publishing but authorizes open access to National Central Library (NCL) Taiwan Periodical Literature, contributing to the dissemination of scholarship for free via the Internet.
