National Chengchi University Philosophical Journal: Editorial Procedure
There should be seven board members who are elected in a departmental meeting. The editor-in-chief of the journal is the ex officio member among them. One of the seven members shall be a full-time professor of the department of philosophy at NCCU. The rest five members shall be external scholars.
Scholars responsible for reviewing submitted articles are selected in an editorial meeting held by the editorial board. For each submitted article, the board selects two scholars to be invited firstly as its reviewer and two scholars secondarily. However, a scholar meeting one of the following conditions shall not be selected:
Editor-in-chief and assistant editors invite scholars to serve as reviewers, according to the decision of the editorial board. Each submitted article will be reviewed by two reviewers and are double-blind.
Reviewers’ reports are classified into four categories: accepted with no corrections, accepted with minor corrections, corrections and re-submission, and not accepted. The result of the submission is determined according to the following table:

Result 1: the submitted article will be accepted.
Result 2: the submitted article will be accepted after the author’s corrections.
Result 3: the board will decide whether the article shall be sent to the original reviewers or a third reviewer after the author’s corrections.
Result 4: the article will be sent to a third reviewer. Not only shall the result follow their report, but there are only two options: acceptance or rejection.
Result 5: the submitted article will be rejected.
After the procedure of peer-review, the editor-in-chief and assistant editors will inform the author of the reviewers’ reports anonymously and the suggestions for revision, if any, according to the reports.
